Canadian Decorators Association (CDECA)

I recently had the experience of dealing on a business matter with Lowell Brown of Insight Design, and wish to provide a testimonial as to his response to a referral I provided.

As Treasurer of the Canadian Decorators Association (CDECA), I was informed that our communications committee was entertaining proposals for the building of a new website. While I was aware of the criteria that were developed by the committee, I was not aware of the competition until 1 or 2 days before the deadline for submissions. I had often heard Lowell mention in his BNI talks how he specialized in website marketing – making a website “work”. I knew that the main problem with our old site was that it didn’t work, and wondered if Lowell would be interested in helping us out. When I contacted him, I mentioned that very tight schedule and he jumped at the chance. Not only was he able to submit a very detailed and professional proposal in a little over 24 hours, he actually went on to win the competition for the job. His quotation definitely demonstrated value for cost – a matter which concerns me especially in my capacity as caretaker of CDECA’s funds. I am pleased to say that I will be signing the contract on behalf of the Board today.

When we give referrals to members of our BNI chapter, we expect them to reflect well on us with a timely and professional response. Lowell did me proud. I will continue to have no hesitation in referring him in the future. I look forward to seeing his completed work..

I've heard so much about you although we haven't had the pleasure of meeting or talking as yet, and I have certainly been very much impressed by the wonderful work you've done on the CDECA website. You've gone above and beyond for us, and we are so grateful to you. As you know we are a volunteer board and a nonprofit organization but we have big ideas and aspirations for CDECA which are only limited by our severe financial constraints. What a frustrating situation for us creative people! So we are very thankful to you for exceeding your mandate and going that extra mile for us, and yes, burning the midnight oil with our dear Shelley, she tells us, so that we can meet our objective of a grand September launch.

As Secretary, I have sent out a bulletin to our membership tonight asking them to sign into the site and set up their membership information, with the detailed instructions provided by you and Shelley. I've also been phoning people whose emails have bounced back-we need to contact every member!! I hope that our members will do their part very quickly so that we can have
the public launch soon. I'm so proud of how CDECA has turned the corner and reinvented itself and the website will be a huge indicator of the depth of change and improvement that we've accomplished in the past six months. Thanks a million for your enthusiasm and dedication and your generosity as well. We know that we chose well when we chose you for this project!

I just wanted to drop a quick line, to say how wonderful the website is. I had the opportunity to update my membership information last night, and am so impressed by the work you have done for the Association. I know we asked a lot of you, and you have show diligence, patience and generous cooperation.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work, it is appreciated more than you know.....
